8 - Kenshiro Abbe Sensei ~ KyuShinDo the Abuse

We now see people claiming to have dan grades in ` KyuShinDo ` how can you have a dan grade in a philosophy / theory ?? ....KyuShinDo is a philosophy not a martial art.

I have stated many times `` Kenshiro Abbe Sensei developed his philosophy of KyuShinDo as applicable to Judo.

Kenshiro Abbe Sensei NEVER repeat NEVER ever taught Aiki-Justsu or Aiki-Budo or JuJutsu or JuJitsu....Anyone making the following claims are talking a load of round objects...He never taught any of the following ``KyuShinDo Karate `` ~ `` KyuShinDo Aikido `` ~ `` KyuShinDo JuJutsu `` ~ KyuShinDo Aiki-Jutsu `` ~ KyuShiDo Aiki-Jujutsu `` ... Sensei –
My name is Gilmartin, I was one of your students at Slough and Bracknell Sports Centre dojos. I was Mr. Goodwin’s assistant, while John Berloth was yours.
I have just become aware of the bewildering tale of Jack Poole. Your account of the facts tally’s precisely with my memory of that period. I can only conclude that poor Jack has suffered a mental breakdown of some nature and lives in a delusion.
Congratulations on your success, my years as a student of yours count among the best of my life.

BAB - No Respect for UK Aikido History & Lineage

Derek Eastman Sensei attempted to raise the question of the British Aikido Board's collusion and deceit with its support for Mr Jack Poole, with reference to his documented fraudulent claims to a bizarre Budo history and lineage, held at the annual `BAB General Meeting` - a bizarre claim if believed would change the true factual documented history of UK Aikido forever.

Toni Davis the then inept BAB chairman made the following shameful statement.

"We the British Aikido Board are not the custodians of British Aikido History, and therefore have no interest in the same ".

Despite knowing, and ignoring the truth about Mr Poole, the BAB then presented Mr Poole to the Mayor of Birminghan - the general public, and the deceived BAB membership as a pioneer of British Aikido.

British Aikido Board Exposed & H Ellis

Prior to the year 2000

Henry Ellis and Derek Eastman were quietly teaching in their UK and USA dojo's.

2000 - They were unaware the BAB were cunningly `creating ` it's own pioneer of British Aikido, despite the BAB fully knowing their actions were deceitful to its membership and the general public - more importantly the memory of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei - also the true UK Aikido pioneers - And of course Sport England ( Now UK Sport ) .

As soon as Henry Ellis became aware of the planned insult to the true pioneers of UK Aikido - he advised the BAB their crass claims were fraudulent ( deceitful ) their `new hero` a Mr Jack Poole was actually a below average immediate ex - beginner student of Mr Ellis, at his Slough Dojo in 1968.

Mr Poole later claimed to have studied in France with Tadashi Abe Sensei in 1951/2 - This was totally denied by Pierre Chassange Sensei the first student and personal aide to Tadashi Abe Sensei from his arrival in France in 1952.

Non the less, the BAB were determined to promote their `Man of Budo` at the BAB National Aikido Course 2000.

The BAB were not prepared to allow facts to get in the way of the promotion of their new hero, the BAB refused to discuss - accept- view - listen - as they ignored all of the documented facts offered to them, they flatly refused to view the abundance of documentation - photos - videos - witness statements offered by Henry Ellis.

Ms Shirley Timms the BAB secretary, threatened that Henry Ellis would never again be invited to teach at a BAB National Course - Ellis was grateful for that .

Ralph Reynolds Sensei, the then BAB vice chairman, advised Henry Ellis that Mr Poole and his group of instructors and associated clubs had threatened the BAB, if Mr Poole was not included in the award ceremony, they would `all` boycott the 2000 national seminar, they would also jointly consider leaving the BAB in protest.

The cowardly BAB caved in to these threats.

It was then, and only then, Ellis and Eastman decided to offer the `true` history of British Aikido, making available their proven history - memories - photos - videos - witness statements,

supported by -

TK Chiba Shihan - - R Otani Sensei, President of the BJC - - H Otani ex secretary BJC - - A Davies Hanshi, President Bushido Za Zen Society - - Ex senior BAB Communications Executive - - A senior serving Detective with the London Metropolitan Police - - Sensei W `Bill` Stopps, personal aide from 1947 to 1977 to Matsutaro Otani Sensei. - - W `Bill` Woods Sensei, personal aide to Kenshiro Abbe Sensei. - - Pierre Chassange Sensei.- - Gerry Gyngell Sensei BJC Judo Champion for 3 years.
Along with many old students, and others, too many to list.

Henry Ellis was prepared to close down his controversy websites - until - he learned that the BAB secretary Ms Shirley Timms and the inept chairman Mr Toni Davies were slandering his good name.

It now became necessary to Expose the Conduct of the discredited British Aikido Board .

Click image - British Aikido Board Membership Funds - £150,000 - If you are a member of the BAB ? - this is `YOUR` money !! - - The BAB was created and developed over some 25 years by its founding members, who were all willing ``unpaid volunteers `` building the B A B - This was until 2002 with the appointment of Mr Vincent Sumpter the then new chairman - The BAB had way in excess of £150,000 in the bank of members money - Apart from a rather dismal and poorly attended annual seminar, they did very little with the money for the members - and what they did do everything had a fee attached to it, there would soon follow an executive share out of members money, handed out annually to each executive under the cover name of an ``honorarium " [ or gift ] initially, starting with the sum of £1,000 for each executive per annum [ this may well have increased substantially over recent years ? ] The `gift ` comes at a cost of approx £10,000 each year of members money ( over the years possibly in excess of £100,000 to date ? ) If you are a member of the BAB ? This is YOUR MONEY - - The `honorarium` is tax free - the BAB pay the due tax with your money which is another 20% per executive.

The very highly respected late Jack Poole 3rd dan Kodokan Judoka of the Shanghai Police (died 1982 - R.I.P ) is in no way associated with the Jack Poole of Aikido infamy, as exposed on this website.

It may be no surprise, or coincidence, that `Aikido Jack’s` false claims in the year 2000 to be a third dan in Judo in the early 1950s ?, may well be as a result of him using the rank and prestige of his respected deceased namesake ?, this has been suggested to me several times by senior Judoka.

After all, `Aikido Jack` has used and abused so many deceased Budo masters in his bizarre claims and biography.

British Aikido Board Approved 9th dan

I have just received an email stating that we now have the first British Aikido Board approved 9th dan ?

Congratulations are in order to the BAB - we now wait for the following gush of BAB approved 8th dan Shihans.
Will the BAB soon follow the Bujinkan system of grading up to 15th dan ?

I have only ever previously met one genuine 9th dan, that was in 1963 when the great Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 8th dan introduced us to `Shoji Hamano Sensei` 9th dan Kodokan Judo at the Grange Farm Summer School.

When will the BAB approve the first UK 10th dan ???
Christmas is only 8 weeks away, don't forget to go to the BAB website and download the BAB approved dan grade diploma of your choice.

One may well ask - why the - BAB – Mr Poole - controversy continues to this day ? The simple answer is the original problems that created the controversy are unchanged. – Mr Poole and the BAB have never apologised for the lies – deceit - along with the crass conduct they have displayed over the years. – To this day Mr Poole is recognised by the governing body of UK Aikido as a pioneer of British Aikido – Despite the undisputed facts Mr Poole was proudly presented with an award by the shameless BAB.

The BAB in its Wisdom

To be a BAB member association the applicants would need a minimum of 100 members. If an applicant had less than 100 members they would be required to affiliate with a member association. In its often unfathomable wisdom the BAB reduced the number to 30, which is little more that the size of an average dojo. This has caused many to break from their affiliation therefore creating many more associations with no increase in members. Now a dojo can be an association - you could not make it up - only the BAB could.
